TCS Interview of Shefali Sharma

I underwent a Two day recruitment process wherein I had to clear 4 stages.

Day 1:  1st round which was an online aptitude test. (students who pass this were called for interviews which were scheduled on the 2nd day)

Day 2: 3 rounds one of each Technical, Managerial and HR.

1st round: Online Test

English: 30 Questions in 20 mins

Aptitude +DI: 38 Questions in 40 mins

Critical Reasoning: 12 Questions in 30min

You may refer Barron_Gre_12th_Edition for practice. 5 Model test papers are given at the end of this book. This book is good for practicing English and logic, questions in critical reasoning section were from these model test papers

2nd Round: Technical  

1. Tell me something about yourself

2. What all projects you have done. Brief me about each of the project you listed.

3. Are you comfortable with linux programming? Write a command to change the permission of a file named file.txt   to enable read for other members 

4. What work have you done in Oracle/9i? 

5. Tell me the difference between Primary key constraint and unique key constraint in DBMS. Can unique key have null values and what about primary key?

6. What is a foreign key? Can we have a foreign key referring to primary key of same table?

7. What is atomicity?

8. What is Indexing of databases? 

9. Write a program to check if a number is prime or not. Show how your code will work by checking it for 9

10. What is the difference between arrays and linked list? 

3rd round: Managerial (MR)

In this round you are given a situation and asked how you will react when confronted with such a situation.

In my case nothing of this difficulty level was asked rather…

1. Tell me about your family

2. Any restrictions for going outside Delhi or India?

4th round: HR 

1. Introduce yourself

2. What is your best trait? (To which I answered communication skills and diligence) Why do you have this misconception that you have good communication skills?

3. He told me to speak for 1 minute on U.S., then fan (on 1st 2 topics the moment I completed 1st sentence he switched the topic)  From U.S. to fan then pen... (PS: Finally he patiently heard me on the last topic, pen.)  

4. Ask me any English word which is most difficult for you and as per you I (HR Panelist) may not be aware of it.He continued this topic by doing the other way round. He asked me meaning of 3 words(1st word I don't remember :D , 2nd rodendron, 3rd succumb: I could answer only 3rd correctly)

5. Rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10 in English, Rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 5 as a team player.

6. Any restrictions for going outside Delhi
