Aricent Interview of Shobhit Bhatnagar

Hi ppl,
I m sharing my experience of Aricent Selection procedure with u, i hope this will help u in ur prep for placements...


Firstly, the procedure was divided into three parts,
1. Written test (Elimination Round).
2. Group Interview.
3. Personal Interview.


Written Test

It was divided into four sections:

1. Analytical

logical questions like : series of alphabets, pictures, questions of set theory,


2. Detail Attention

Dont get scared by the name (:P). it was a very easy section, with two case studies comprising of 5 questions each. the ques were asked onto making decisions based on situations given in case studies, than ther were quesns like if + is -, kind, than evaluate the expr, there were 8 quesns on this topic.


3.Data Structures

Another vary easy section, quesns were like defn of Stack, running time of linear search,identify the code for removin an element from queue, pushing an element on a stack,arey yar bahut jyada easy section tha, ques were very easy...

4. C++ Programming

This was easy as well. first few were slightly tricky, u hv to make some effort to evaluate thpse, bt than most of the other were vary simple...Ques were from Classes, objects, static variables in classes, virtual functions, matlab bahut simple they yaar, ek bar herbschildt kar lo theek se, koi prob nahi hogi.


Next day we had GI and PI's, I'll start with GI's

Group Interview

Kuch nahi tha, simple sa Gd hi tha, 12 ke gps mai hua tha, each gp is divided into two gps of 6 each, a topic was given in the form of a written script, we hv to read it for 15 mins, and than one gp has to speak in favor of it and the other against it.



Personal Interview

Mera interview lunch ke baad hua tha, 2.30 baje ke aspas, ther was only a single person in my panel, He started with HR First, Tell me abt urself, than wat roles hv been asigned to you...and so on. The HR lasted for abt 45 mins, bahut mast hua tha, that person was impressed with me....


Technical Interview

He asked abt my fav subjects, i said i hv prep most of the subjects, He than ask me ques from a lot of subjects...

1. Operating Systems

What is OS?
Its purposes. Its functions. What is a process?? PCB? Threads??
Difference b/w process and threads..
Critical Section, How wud u solve it??
Semaphores.

2. C programming

What is #include stands for?
What is the purpose of main() in C?
Arguments inside the main
diff b/w header files and source files.
why do u include a header file.
2-D array, its mem representation
What is pointer???
How ptrs are manipulated??
diff b/w int const* p and const int*p??( i gave wrng ans of this ques)
what are static functions
Static variables?
there needs and scope???
What is a Recursive Function??
Write a recursive function( he asked to write factorial function)
WAP to reverse a string, i gave him the logic first, n than write the prog.
static mem allocation v/s dynamic mem allocation??
hw static mem allocation is done??
hw dynamic mem allcation is done??
diff b/w malloc and calloc??

3. Networks

What is TCP/IP refence model??
Layers of TCP/IP?
Protocols at each level.
Why layers??
What is MAC??
Why it is needed??
Its protocols??
Router and Bridges??
Where is NIC placed??
Subnetting and Supernetting??(I dont knw the term supernetting...and i ve told him...)


4. Softy

What is SDLC??
Its phases??
What is testing??
Diff techniques of testing??
I said i dont remember lot of them, n he was Ok with it.
Hv u ever followed SDLC in any of ur projects??
I named one, n explained all the phases that we followed in that project...

C++
What are classes??
What are objects??
Diff b/w classes and objects???
Why OOP???
advantages of OOP??
Encapsulation
Abstraction
Inheritance
Polymorphism
diff b/w static and dynamic polymorphism??


Data Structures

What is a stack??
What is a queue??
diff b/w stack and queue??
what is linked list???
What is doubly LL??
in which of the list traversal is easy and why??
What is a tree??
what is binary tree??

He asked me top draw diagrams of each n then explain it to him...



He also asked me ques related to CSA and Diff b/w Win XP and Linux??

I said no on all the ques of CSA???(It is abs right to say on the things that u dont knw)

Lastly, I just wanted to say a few things to all of you...

1. Prepare well for Placements.
2. Dont get disappointed if u dont get a job in the first few comp...
3. In our case, the level of interviews was very simple, but it might not be the case with u guys, So plz be prepare really well, Do C,C++,OS,Networks,DS,Algo. These are very imp subjects.
4. Do say "No" on sth that u r not aware of or u dont remember...Dont give vague answers.
5. All the very best from my side... Do well...
